Important Information Regarding your 2019 Tax Returns

To our valued clients,
As of today, March 20th, 2020, we are conducting business as usual while taking precautions to keep our staff and clients safe. The Covid-19 virus has caused disruption for everyone, including us. Our hope is to file as many tax returns as we can by April 15th, but as you are well aware, the situation changes daily. Let me reiterate, our intention is to file as many returns as possible by April 15th. If the Ohio Governor decides to order all residents to stay at home, as was recently done in California, it will limit our ability to complete as many returns as we would have liked by April 15th. We do have the ability to work from home and may be forced to in the near future.
There has been a lot of media coverage about the tax payment and tax filing deadline extension to July 15th, 2020 and we want to provide some guidance. The income tax filing and payment deadline for individual returns with an original due date of April 15th, 2020 are automatically extended until July 15th, 2020 for those taxpayers owing less than $1 million. This relief applies to all individual returns, including self-employed individuals, and all entities other than C-Corporations, such as trusts or estates. The IRS will automatically provide this payment and filing relief to all taxpayers. Taxpayers do not need to file any additional forms or call the IRS to qualify. In addition, this relief also applies to the first quarterly 2020 estimated tax payments that would also normally be due on April 15th, 2020.
Given what we know today we will continue to work towards filing your returns by April 15th.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions.
We look forward to continuing working with you and hope you are all staying healthy and safe.
